We went on a picnic to the Aqua-world Suigou(=riverside district) Park. It was slightly cloudy but having luch surrouded by the greenery in the breeze coming over the water was heavenly(it's unknown though).

Device To Stop The Cleaner Hose From Slipping Off

I attached new push and go devices on to the cleaner to stop the hose and the blush from slipping off. It had been a great irritant to me for a long time while using the cleaner. At last I'm free from the stress!!

Weed Root Cutter

I made a new tool for cuttng a thicker underground root or stem with a single stab. The blade of which I quenched. The trial use to the root of bushkiller and of lizard tail showed it's efficient and labor saving.

Kiso Sansen Wajyuu Museum

We visited Kiso Sansen Wajyuu Museum( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okgRO9vsI7Q ) finishing up our sakura viewing this year. (Note:sansen=three rivers, wajyuu=areas closed by dikes)
We learned Hane-dani valley and the Makita-gawa river were the passages through which earth and sand were carried into wajyuu areas making river beds shallow and causing repeated floods.
We also knew the dike of the Oogure-gawa river along which were planted the beautiful cherry trees was a legacy of the labors and efforts of the afflicted people.

We renewed our recognition that the people's burden and labors were other people's affairs to us the people who lived in the other side of the Kiso-gawa river.
We also learned anew about Hirata Yukie who worked hard for the flood protection works and commited harakiri after the work.
We thought about Johannis de Rijke, a Dutch, too, who, invited by Japanese government then, directed modern civil engineering works shaping the changeable several big streams into three independent rivers as they are now.

My Sakura Photo 2025 -III-

We went for the sakura viewing drive, very likely for the last time this spring. We visited the place about two weeks ago when sakurabuds were still hard. They were almost full-blown this time commanding a distant view of Mt. Ibuki with the remaining snow under the blue skies. We enjoyed the best sakura view of this year!

My Sakura Photo 2025 -II-

The day before yesterday we happened to know the sakura along the Oogure-gawa river dike is beautiful. We had never heard of it. The place is in the next prefecture but it is only about 15 km away. Judging they were in full bloom we visited the dike yesterday. The dike, lined with hundreds of full-blown cherry trees, was beautiful.
On the way back home we paid a visit to the cenotaph of Yukie Hirata, the general magistrate of the flood prevention works around the area about 270 years ago.
He was a minister of the Satsuma(Kagoshima Kyushu) domain to which the Tokugawa shogunate ordered to do the work by their own efforts.
The work took a toll of more than 50 lives and incurred a tremendous debt upon the domain. Yukie Hirata is told to have commited hara-kiri answering for the cost.

My Sakura Photo 2025

We visited a natural park at the foot of a mountain range located about 30kms drive to the West. It was cloudy contrary to the forcast of fine weather but we enjoyed the blossoms just before their full bloom.

Picnic Drive To The Mountain View With The Remaining Snow

On the day the warmth of which became the finishing blow to the cold waves we went on a picnic drive. It was a hazy day but the view of the Suzuka mountains with the remaining snow on the peaks, was surprisingly beautiful. We had not expected it.

A Solution Of Wireless Wi-Fi Trouble

Our Regza PC with which I had operated the Raspi for recording FM music programs lost its wireless wi-fi function.
I stuck to solving the trouble for hours but finally I judged it's dead. Luckily however, I had a wireless relay device which, though very old, had lan-cable terminals(the black sqare box pointed by the red arrow in the photo above).
The pc, connected to wi-fi by lan cable, resumed its wi-fi function with much improved correspondence speed.

Additional Repair Of The Diaphragm

We found beautiful flowers newly offered to our grave. They were the familiar selection of flowers that we imaginged they were offered by the person who visit and offere floweres every year. Thank you for the visit and offering them.
Correction:In the installment on 10th I wrote Feb.9 was the anniversary of our son's death. Sorry. It was an old man's mistake. The anniversary is Feb.19th.

Kitchen Paper Holder

I made a kitchen paper holder and installed it under the overhead storage above the sink as shown in the photo. It has a cutter with which you can take off one piece of paper with one hand. I made a kitchen paper stand and had used it on a table but we felt we needed a more handy one after such a long time.
